Some things that I love
Artists Support Pledge : Set up by Matthew Burroughs as a lifeline for artists who lost their income streams due to Covid-19. The concept is simple: artists are invited to post pictures of their works for sale for £200 or less on Instagram using the hashtag #ArtistSupportPledge. Every time an artist makes £1,000 in sales they then pledge to plough back £200 on purchasing the work of another artist using the hashtag. There are no enforcements, it is a system based on trust. I have been a part of the pledge since the beginning and plan to continue offering my work under the pledge.
Folksy.com : The best online craft platform, based in my home town. Run by lovely people and i am very proud to use their platform for all my sales.
Towner Art Gallery : the home of the most comprehensive collection of the work of Eric Ravilious. Wonderful!
Kirsti Brown Ceramics : Using a wonderful colour palette and inspired by the sea and archaeology, Kirsti makes gorgeous vessels that remind me of the sea.
Lorna Gilbert Ceramics : It’s those wonderful coastal colours again, Lorna makes wonderful hand thrown ceramics for home and garden.
Anne Marie Jacobs conjours Mersea Island in ceramic form. You can smell the ocean in her remarkable vessels.
Cornish Beach Bum makes the most wonderful silver rings set with sea glass and cowrie shells. She takes custom orders too.
Platina Jewellery : alchemy in jewellery form. Subtle and elegant enamelled silver.
The Cod & Lobster : The pub with the finest location in Britain, on the slipway at Staithes.
Elly Rowbotham is The Small Printer, creating gorgeous line prints on her Adana press, inspired by Cornwall.
Ruth Brownlee paints the most beautiful seascapes I have ever seen. Ruth lives in Shtland and she captures the light and the sea in oils. I could stare at her paintings forever.
